Hey serial readers! I'm super excited to share with you some awesome new book releases for the month of August! I'm showing you my own book (surprise, surprise), a book I reviewed previously, and a book I'll be reviewing later this month. You can win my book in any rebook form and two books by Steven Whibley in paperback!
And this is my 100th post here! WOOHOO! We've come a looooooong way! And no better way to celebrate than with a blog hop and a giveaway!
The first book I have to show you is RELIC by Steven Whibley. I reviewed the first book in the series which is called GLIMPSE. I loved it, and you should go read my review. Anyway, the second book in the series is out now and I want you all to read about it.
Fourteen-year-old Dean Curse is still having horrifying visions of people in grave danger – visions that leave him a single day to save their lives. So far, he’s considered a few broken bones and a standing appointment in group therapy to be a small sacrifice compared to the good he's done.
While learning more about the mysterious society that gave him the gift, Dean has a vision that leads him to believe a monk is going to rob a museum—if he’s right, the robbery will go very badly. But he can’t get the police to believe him. In fact, the authorities think Dean is at the root of all the trouble. Dean and his friends decide the only way to save a few lives is to take matters into their own hands, even if it means breaking a few laws. They have 24 hours to decide if the ends really do justify the means.

These are just a few of the days humans prophesied as bringing catastrophic events that would end the world. We predicted nuclear warfare. Drastic climate change. A call from God.
We were wrong.
Cue the gargoyle invasion—laboratory bred mutants designed to slaughter humans. When the government goes AWOL and gargoyles are swarming by the hundreds, it's up to the citizens of the United States to regroup and save themselves.
Meet Cliff Matthews, a teenage boy separated from his entire family with the exception of his younger sister, whom he is desperate to keep alive. Along the quest to save their lives, he encounters people who aren't all that they seem. Everyday's a battle, but if he can't trust his own species, where does that leave his family?
And we can't forget the man who may be willing to sacrifice Cliff's life, if it means world domination.
In terms of doomsday, no one could've seen this coming.
