“I like you.” His voice is low and soft, which I don’t deserve. I look away, down the rutted parking lot.

“Don’t... waste those words on me.”

He touches my cheek. “You just need someone to show you.”

“No.” I ease back again. “I don’t. So please, Torrin, stop trying to swoop in and save me. I don’t need saving.”

College freshman Quinn Montgomery will do anything to avoid the mistake her sister made—killing herself over a boy. But when she is forced into nude modeling at a local college to support her family after a bankruptcy, she begins to crack, just enough to let Torrin, the university’s top varsity oarsman, see that the real Quinn is not as feisty and unapproachable as she wants everyone to think. But letting someone in comes at a steep cost and, it turns out, Torrin is connected to Quinn’s family in more ways than she could ever imagine.

I remember seeing the blurb for STRIPPED somewhere a while ago and being immediately intrigued. I guess my mind kind of blanked after the first part and I didn't really process the rest. Because when I opened the book (well, Kindle document) and I saw she was a nude model, I was like "Okay. What the hell have I got myself into?"

Needless to my say, my prejudice thoughts were completely wrong. As usual.

Perhaps you haven't noticed this, but lots of new adult  romance books are explicit sex scenes with a plot drawn around them. One of the reasons my reviews have been more young adult these days.

Thankfully Brooklyn Skye had MANY original bones in her body and managed to craft a unique story dealing with juggling love and loss.

I loved Quinn like a sister in this book. Often I wanted to be the one to steer her in the right direction when it came to love and life decisions. She has a rough outer shell and I was waiting for the right person to take those walls down. And Torrin? It seems whenever I wanted him to fight for her he didn't, and for that, I often wanted to slap him in the face. Readers will have their heart strings pulled just like the protagonist did.

STRIPPED is an emotional journey that deals with many sensitive subjects including grief, loss, infidelity, domestic abuse, suicide, and more. It definitely had me tearing up in certain parts. It's one of those books that everyone is better off reading. The love in it is so fresh and beautiful that now that I'm writing this review, I just want to go back and read those sweet parts again. Oh my gosh. I just love romance, don't you?

Some things need to be said. STRIPPED said it all.
