Security by Mandy Baggot: Review!

Romantic Suspense
Date Published-  April 4, 2013

Synopsis: Autumn Raine is a pop vocalist at the very top of her game. She’s a style icon, the paparazzi’s darling and everyone wants to be her friend. But when her safety is threatened, her whole life starts to unravel.Eluding kidnap and trying to stay alive, can Autumn find the strength to be the person she longs to be? And can two people, poles apart, forge something strong enough to survive anything?

Well, let's begin. How would I describe Security in one word?
Unexpected. Definitely unexpected.
Okay, I think everyone is pretty much sick of the cliche celebrity books.  "Oh my gosh, I'm famous, but I don't want to be." Blah. Blah. Blah.

This book is different. Our main character, Autumn, is very well rounded. She is paranoid and suffers from OCD. Though she is confident and sexy, she can easily be naive and vulnerable. She's twenty seven, but has a lot of learning to do. I think Mandy did an excellent job creating Autumn's character.

Then there is her sexy bodyguard. Though strong, witty, and sarcastic, he has secrets that can deplete the emotional part of him. He wants to care for Autumn, but then doesn't want her at the same time. I just thought that was so rich. He was such a fragile character, I just wanted to climb in and kiss him.

The plot was, well, woah. Like so many things kept popping up, and at the end, I was like hell yeah! I don't read much suspense, especially not romantic suspense, but I was glad I chose this book to help introduce me to it.

I give Security an eight out of ten and choose to keep it on my bookshelves. It was one of the best romance books I have ever read.
